Kids love bubble tea mostly for the pearls: they pop in the mouth, colour the glass and turn a drink into a small event. In this collection we've gathered everything in our range that suits children – caffeine-free teas, fruit pearls that need no cooking, ready-made kits and ready-to-drink bottles for on the go. Important safety note about tapioca pearls

Tapioca pearls are not suitable for children under 4 years of age because of the risk of choking. Cooked pearls are firm and slippery and are often drawn up through a wide straw, which can lead to choking. That is why you will deliberately find no tapioca pearls in this collection. The same applies to older children: drink bubble tea sitting down and under supervision, never while running or playing. Fruit pearls are much softer than tapioca pearls, but they are no substitute for supervision.

Caffeine-free: which flavours work for children?

Black tea, green tea, matcha and mate contain natural caffeine and are therefore only partly suitable. Rooibos, on the other hand, is caffeine-free – it is mild, slightly sweet and works just as well cold as hot. Even simpler: skip the tea entirely and add fruit pearls to cold milk, fruit juice or water with a dash of syrup. More ideas are on our bubble tea recipes page.

Kids' birthday party: how to plan quantities

Count on roughly 30–40 g of fruit pearls per glass. A 240 g pack is therefore enough for about six children, and a bubble tea kit covers six servings. For larger groups the 1.5 kg packs from our bulk packs for catering and events make more sense. Put two or three flavours on the table and let every child mix their own cup – that is usually half the party right there. You will also need XXL straws, because normal ones are too narrow for the pearls. The right bubble tea accessories are available from us.

On the go: ready to drink

For day trips, the pool or as a small gift, the ready-to-drink bottles are practical: open the bottle, add a straw, done. No cooking, no fridge needed. If you want to keep an eye on sugar, have a look at bubble tea without sugar.

Which bubble tea is caffeine-free?
Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free. Pure fruit versions made from milk, juice or water with fruit pearls also contain no caffeine. Black tea, green tea, matcha and mate do contain caffeine.

Do fruit pearls have to be cooked?
No. Our fruit pearls are ready to use – just spoon them into the glass. That makes them far more practical for a kids' party than tapioca pearls.
